Beretta Range Day | SHOT Show 2026

Once again I had the opportunity to attend Beretta’s invitational range day prior to SHOW Show 2026! Much like last year, guests rotate through bays to check out various guns with experts at each to answer questions and assist with technique. Whether you’re into tactical shotguns or precision rifles, there was something for everyone. Here is what caught my eye this year.

Beretta Shotguns and Accessories

I spent the vast majority of my time during Range Day at the tactical shotgun bay. While here I hung out with Rob and Matt Haught of Symtac Consulting, Adam Roth of Aridus Industries, fellow writer Paul Fitch, and other friends. I put literally hundreds rounds through nearly every one of the dozen-plus guns here, and kept coming back for more.

20 Gauge A300 Ultima Patrol

The biggest attraction of today was the new A300 Ultima Patrol in 20 gauge. This quietly released yesterday, so this was the first chance for the public to get their hands on one. I’m a big fan of my 12 gauge A300UP, and was eager to try it’s Mini-Me. I personally put a few hundred rounds through a couple samples myself, and watched many more rounds fired by others. The biggest design change here is an updated stock featuring reduced length of pull, along with QD sockets on either side of the stock in addition to the traditional underside location.

The 20ga A300UP is a fair bit smaller than it’s 12ga brother; this is a new gun with a unique receiver, not just a rechambering of the old gun. This drops its weight down to around 6-pounds empty, making it extremely light and handy. Recoil is similar to the 12 gauge version due to this reduction in weight, but still manageable.

Despite being a new gun, it is already supported by Chisel Machining for forends and stocks, with more accessories on the way. For those looking for a bit more style, Beretta is also bringing back Tiger Stripe camouflage for the 20 gauge as well. MSRP starts at $1,299.

AX800 Suprema

Beretta released the AX800 Suprema a few weeks ago, but this was my first time seeing one in person. This new shotgun includes some interesting designs, thanks to its focus on waterfowl hunting. The most easily noticeable component is the polymer receiver, featuring unique ribs and shaping for strength, with the polymer designed to fight corrosion and reduce weight. The AX800 also features a Steelium Pro barrel, similar to what is found on Beretta’s DT11 shotguns, used by Olympians such as Kim Rhode.

Shooting the AX800 Suprema was an interesting experience due to the polymer construction. It feels different in hand, but not bad, like something familiar yet strange. My time with the gun was fairly limited, but it enjoyed quite a bit of time with hunting and sporting focused media members. I appreciated the oversized controls, meant for gloved hands, and found the texturing on the gun to be highly effective.

A400 Upland

The A400 Upland is a gun I wasn’t familiar with prior to Range Day, and something I passed over a few times before finally picking it up. Much to my surprise, it ended up being possibly my favorite gun of the day, and one I’ve been thinking about since leaving the range. Beretta, give me one of these.

In short, the A400 Upland is a really nice gun for small game and clays, chambered for 28 gauge. I’d never shot a 28 gauge prior to today, and it was a dream to shoot.  There were multiple clay launchers in the tactical bay; I was able to keep up with the AX800 and other big bore guns, while having a blast. Additionally, I spent a fair bit of time speeding through a dueling tree and dumping a plugged mag on some steel silhouettes as well. The A400 Upland never choked or hiccupped, showing that’s it’s not just a pretty face.

Chisel Machining

Chisel is most well known for their pistol grip stocks for Beretta, Remington, and Mossberg shotguns. This year they unveiled a new wrap-around handguard for 1301 and A300UP. These feature a slick texture with MLOK slots at the 3/6/9/12 o’clock positions for mounting accessories such as weapon lights or grip panels.

The standard handguard is made from aluminum, but a second variant was shown featuring a carbon fiber upper layer to reduce weight.

Aridus Industries

I spent a long time and a lot of ammunition testing out a few Aridus Industries components on A300UP and 1301 shotguns during the Beretta Range Day. There was a little more on the range from Aridus than what is mentioned here, but those are stories for another time! Both amusingly and frustratingly, while writing this I realized I’d taken no pictures of Aridus products because I was too busy shooting them!

Imperium Handguard for Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol

First was the Imperium handguard for A300. I’ve been working behind the scenes evaluating a few iterations of the Imperium handguard for Aridus, and it’s shaping up to be a stellar upgrade to a great shotgun. This gives shooters MLOK slots at 3/9 o’clock, and fully encloses the barrel to protect shooter’s hands during violin reloads or short-stocking CQB techniques. The texturing is a massive help to control the gun with wet hands, but doesn’t tear up skin under recoil.

MSRP is expected to come in around $330 with the Imperium handguard and associated replacement Piston Stop for the A300UP. Look for arrival in Q2 of this year.

Charging Handle for A300 Ultima Patrol

One of the first products I remember seeing from Aridus Industries was their replacement charging handle for the Beretta 1301. Now Aridus is bringing that to the A300UP. This gives shooter’s a larger, more aggressively textured charging handle to help them run the gun and clear stoppages. I found that this handle made the bolt feel easier to retract thanks to the improved leverage provided by the enlarged charging handle.

MSRP is expected to be $80, with an expected Q2 release.

Beretta Handguns

I briefly stopped over at the handgun bay during Beretta Range Day to check out some new offerings. In addition to Beretta products, there was also a booth set up for Langdon Tactical customized handguns and shotguns.

92G Elite LTT II

When I first saw the 92G Elite LTT II online, I wasn’t impressed with its looks. When I first laid eyes on the gun in person, I immediately had a change of heart. This gun looks good. Two-tone finishes are coming back in style, and the 92G Elite LTT II does a good job at leading the charge. Striking slide serrations have been said to invoke the APX pistol, and do a solid job of providing a grasping surface for manipulations. As expected, the trigger is excellent, and depressing the decocker automatically returns the gun to “fire” in typical G fashion.

This gun gives shooters a factory Beretta option that comes equipped with LTT’s low mount RDO system, helping to reduce height over bore with your optic of choice. I fired both irons-only, and Trijicon RMR-HD equipped versions, and was very pleased with the optic height on the RMR. Another feature that stood out to me were the wraparound grips. These provided fantastic texturing, sitting on the aggressive side, which I prefer.

MSRP starts at $1249, and the 92G Elite LTT II is available now.

Jaguar 22LR

For those that may have seen things slip through the cracks, the Jaguar was actually unveiled at last year’s Beretta Range Day. It was supposed to be a secret surprise, not meant for publication, but some attendees didn’t get that message. Well now Beretta is ready to publicly display the gun, and it was back out on the range for us to try (again)!

Overall the Jaguar seems like a solid choice for those shooting rimfire pistol divisions in Steel Challenge. This isn’t a simple plinker, though it would certainly excel in the role for those looking to pick on up. Grip texturing was excellent, the trigger is solid, sights are good, and there’s plenty of room for mounting optics, threading on suppressors or compensators, and more. Here are a few quick notes on features:

  • Grip panels are easily swappable for sizing (small, medium large)
  • Left or right ejection configurable
  • Ambidextrous magazine release
  • Ambidextrous thumb safety
  • MLOK barrel shroud
  • Magazine capacity of 10-15 rounds depending on SKU

MSRP on the Beretta Jaguar is $749, with an expected release window of Summer 2026.

More on the Beretta Range Day

This year I didn’t make my way to the Five Stand or rifle bays, but I did repeatedly visit Beretta’s Olympian’s bay. Over here we had Olympic medalists Kim Rhode and Connor Prince providing one-on-one instruction with guests as we fumbled our way through a simple Sporting Clays stage. While here we had the chance to shoot high-end DT11 shotguns, similar to what our mentors use on the competition stage.

It was great to rub shoulders with such high level shooters, and I’m happy to report that I managed to knock a few clays out of the sky while I was at it.

Garmin also had a booth set up near the guest house on the range. Here they displayed a variety of smart watches, handheld GPS receivers, their Xero C1 chronograph, and more.
