Kalashnikov USA | SHOT Show 2020

Kalashnikov USA had several new products on display during SHOT Show 2020. I specifically took a look at the KR-103 rifle, and the Komrad shotgun.

The KR-103 is Kalashnikov USA’s first rifle chambered in 7.62×39. It features a chrome lined barrel, forged trunion, and standard AK style furniture. Magazines are made in house in the AK-100 pattern, but the gun accepts all standard AK magazines. Kalashnikov USA has plans for both a side folding stock, and a pistol configuration, but no timelines were provided.

The KR-103 has an MSRP of $1050 and will be released in early Summer 2020.

Komrad

The Komrad is Kalashnikov USA’s foray into the not-a-shotgun market. Similar to the Mossberg Shockwave, the Komrad falls into a legal area defined solely as a firearm. Despite feeding shotgun shells, the Komrad does not have to abide by the rules of shotguns. This means that shooters can have both a short barrel, and a brace without the need for a Tax Stamp.

The Komrad features a 12.5 inch chrome lined barrel. Chokes, magazines, and most parts are Saiga pattern, making everything readily available. The gas system is adjustable for both high and low brass loads, without the need for a tool. Sights are an interesting mix of notch-and-post and bead sights. The rear is a typical notch, with the front being an almost snowman looking bead.

The Komrad has an MSRP of $1050 and is available now.
