We’re fans of Modlite here at Primer Peak. When I saw Steve Fisher of Sentinel Concepts post about a new offering on his Instagram, I made a last minute run down to their booth to see what I’d missed. Modlite is targeting the small EDC light with their latest product, the Anark.
The Anark is the latest in Modlite’s Noxon series of budget focused products. This time around we get a rectangular light, powered by a rechargeable internal battery. It’s a first for the company, and it isn’t difficult to see who’s piece of the pie Modlite is gunning for with this new light.
Switching is simple, with two separate buttons. A side mounted switch gives us access to low power mode, producing 80 lumens and 1,000 candela for a runtime of 17 hours. Pressing the recessed tail-mounted switch gives instant access to high output, generating 1,000 lumens, and 18,000 candela for 2.5 hours. The internal battery is charged via a covered USB-C port located on the side of the light. Finally, the pocket clip is reversible for bezel up or down carry. Expect a deep-carry pocket clip to release later this year for those with greater concealment needs.
Two colors will be available at launch, black and orange. Expect the Modlite Anark to hit shelves in mid-Q1 of this year. MSRP is approximately $140.
